Ambulatory Services Auditor – CDS 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive pre-visit or post-visit chart reviews of professional services in both hospital and clinic/office environments.

• Audit and oversee all aspects of system business related to coding, encompassing outpatient, inpatient, and ambulatory services.

• Execute audits for the HIM Professional Services Coding team, offering feedback and educational resources.

• Assess medical records to ensure precise clinical documentation that supports patient acuity, HCC risk profiles, and the integrity of diagnostic/procedural codes.

• Create and revise procedure manuals that align with correct coding standards.

• Assist in delivering system-wide education and training focused on professional services coding.

• Help establish direction for coding compliance and educational initiatives.

• Provide technical support to physicians and departmental staff regarding incomplete records and nonconforming codes.

• Suggest enhancements to processes and policies or system modifications aimed at minimizing losses and boosting efficiency.

• Track trends and generate reports concerning documentation, coding challenges, and denied claims.

• Uphold the organizational vision, mission, values, Lean continuous improvement principles, safety, confidentiality, compliance, and customer service standards.

• Perform additional duties of comparable complexity as required or assigned.

• Report directly to the System Revenue Integrity Director.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• Necessary certification/licensure includes RHIA, RHIT, CCS-P, CPC, CPMA, CRC, RN, or LPN.

• 0-3 years of coding experience is essential, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

• Familiarity with current Medicare regulations, such as MPFS, IPPS, and OPPS, is required.

• Must be capable of wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• Preferred: Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or a related field.

• Preferred: Experience with coding for Inpatient, Outpatient, and Ambulatory services.

• Preferred: Experience in Physician Evaluation and Management coding.

• Ability to work remotely from an approved state: Oregon, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, or Wisconsin.

• Ability to work Monday-Friday, from 07:00 to 15:00, first shift.

• Ability to commit to a 40-hour work week.
