Lead Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee accredited certification, assurance, validation, and verification assessments across various industries.

• Assist organizations in pinpointing opportunities to enhance environmental, health, safety, quality, and operational performance.

• Provide impartial assessments that support compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Offer technical leadership, share knowledge, and foster client relationship development.

• Support ESG and sustainability initiatives by delivering assurance services.

• Plan, execute, and manage audits, which include preparation, site activities, stakeholder interviews, evidence review, reporting, and assessment conclusions.

• Produce clear, precise, and timely assessment reports along with actionable recommendations.

• Maintain technical proficiency regarding relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practices.

• Aid in the ongoing enhancement of ERM CVS methodologies, competencies, and operational procedures.

• Disseminate knowledge and technical expertise throughout the global ERM CVS team.

• Build reliable client relationships and represent ERM CVS during engagements.

• Identify ways to address client needs and contribute to business development efforts.

• Mentor and support colleagues in audit delivery, technical interpretation, and assessment best practices.

• Contribute to the technical excellence, integrity, and client service of ERM CVS.

⛳️ Requirements

• A graduate degree in a relevant field or an equivalent professional qualification in Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, or a related area.

• A minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience involving the implementation, operation, assessment, or auditing of management systems.

• Experience in evaluating organizational performance against EHS, quality, operational, or management system objectives.

• Sector expertise in Oil & Gas, Mining & Minerals, Data Centers, Manufacturing, or fabrication environments.

• Familiarity with at least two of the following standards: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001.

• Knowledge of ISO 17021 and/or ISO 17029 requirements.

• Strong understanding of U.S. or Americas-based EHS regulations, including OSHA and EPA requirements.

• Capability to plan and execute audits while adhering to deadlines and quality standards.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation delivery.

• Ability to recognize risks and opportunities for improvement and communicate findings clearly and objectively.

• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, ranging from 50% to 75%.

• Preferred: Lead Auditor qualifications or relevant professional certifications.

• Preferred: Experience in conducting accredited certification, verification, or assurance assessments.

• Preferred: Experience across diverse industries and global operating environments.

• Preferred: Knowledge of ESG assurance, sustainability reporting, or related verification frameworks.

• Preferred: Experience in mentoring, coaching, or developing auditors and technical assessors.

• Additional language proficiency preferred: Spanish, French, German, Italian, or Japanese.
