Lead Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create scalable, secure, and maintainable architectures for new applications, services, and solutions.

• Offer technical guidance on application design, integrations, and modernization efforts.

• Collaborate closely with developers and product teams to convert requirements into technical solutions.

• Assess and implement AI-driven development tools and workflows.

• Promote AI integration within development processes and identify automation opportunities.

• Establish and enhance CI/CD pipelines, build processes, and deployment workflows.

• Enhance DevOps practices, automation, and release management strategies.

• Engage with cloud infrastructure and deployment environments.

• Create proof of concepts and rapid prototypes to assess new ideas and technologies.

• Assume responsibility for hands-on technical implementation when necessary.

• Analyze emerging technologies and suggest solutions that enhance development efficiency.

• Mentor developers without direct management responsibilities.

• Work collaboratively with distributed teams across various time zones.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software development, application architecture, or senior engineering roles.

• Extensive hands-on experience with PHP and application architecture.

• Demonstrated experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline implementation.

• Familiarity with AI development tools and AI-assisted engineering workflows.

• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure; AWS or Google Cloud experience is also acceptable.

• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, system integrations, and scalable application design.

• Proficiency with Git, Docker, and deployment automation.

• Capability to independently build prototypes and proof of concepts.

• Excellent technical problem-solving and communication skills.

• Must reside in Canada, ideally within the Eastern Time (ET) zone.

• Availability to collaborate with distributed teams across North America, Europe, and India.

• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code.

• Experience in modernizing legacy PHP applications.

• Experience in implementing AI agents, workflow automation, or AI integrations.

• Previous roles as a Lead Architect, Principal Engineer, or Staff Engineer are preferred.
