This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Coordinate and execute a comprehensive initiative aimed at safeguarding natural habitats and ecosystems for rare and endangered species, as well as natural communities.

• Utilize protective measures such as donations, easements, acquisitions, leases, registries, conservation brokerage, land and resource utilization planning, and collaborative projects.

• Execute TNC’s internal conservation objectives.

• Establish pivotal partnerships with both public and private entities.

• Carry out land protection initiatives, which include conservation real estate transactions.

• Aid in the acquisition of public and private funding for land protection efforts.

• Investigate land ownership details for prospective acquisition projects.

• Prepare comprehensive project packages.

• Address protection inquiries and evaluate potential protection projects.

• Identify, nurture, and execute land protection initiatives.

• Negotiate real estate transactions that can legally and financially obligate TNC.

• Plan, manage, and implement protection project activities with multidisciplinary, matrixed teams.

• Maintain documentation related to land transactions.

• Oversee budgets, negotiate and contract with vendors, develop financial plans, and contribute to fundraising initiatives.

• Work in varied weather conditions, remote locations, challenging or hazardous terrains, and physically demanding situations.


⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree in natural resources management, conservation, business, law or a related field.

• 3 years of relevant work experience in conservation, real estate, fundraising, or similar fields.

• Familiarity with land acquisition principles.

• Proven experience managing multiple projects and adhering to timelines.

• Skilled in negotiating complex agreements.

• Experience in building partnerships with stakeholders, communities, and government agencies.

• Proficient in computer usage, including database management.

• Willingness and ability to travel frequently and on short notice, including weekends.

• Valid driver's license and adherence to TNC’s Auto Safety Program.

• Completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may involve a review of the prospective employee's driving record.

• Knowledge of current trends and strategies in conservation, real estate, and land protection in Florida.

• Skills in GIS and database management.

• Successful completion of TNC's background screening process.
