Kubernetes Platform Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Assist enterprise clients in the design, validation, and implementation of VMware Kubernetes Service solutions on VMware Cloud Foundation.

• Work in conjunction with field account teams to ensure solution architecture is aligned with customer objectives.

• Facilitate technical discovery sessions, workshops, and proof-of-concept initiatives.

• Collaborate with sales teams to create customer proposals that address modernization objectives, workload placement, and operational transformation.

• Provide expert advice on Kubernetes adoption, CI-CD integration, scalability, security, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Develop and distribute reference architectures, deployment models, and technical resources.

• Present technical information to architects and executive decision-makers.

• Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor products, and enterprise needs.

• Partner with product management and engineering to offer field insights that shape the product roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in application engineering, consulting, or technical sales within enterprise IT, cloud, or application platforms.

• In-depth knowledge of containers and a primary Kubernetes distribution (EKS, AKS, RH OCP/OPP, Rancher).

• Extensive experience with VMware Cloud Foundation, including vSphere, vSAN, and NSX.

• 8–10+ years in technology-related roles, focusing on enterprise IT architecture, application modernization, or cloud-native platforms.

• Track record of successfully engaging with enterprise customers to deliver technical solutions and foster platform adoption.

• Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation abilities.

• Strong teamwork skills with sales groups.

• Capability to recognize challenges, devise solutions, and express value in business language.

• Motivated self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments.

• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.

• Profound understanding of VMware products and Kubernetes platforms.

• Certifications in cloud-native or public cloud technologies are highly preferred.
