Kinyarwanda/Kirundi OPI/VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during a call.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary pertinent to the industry served, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate communication between clients with Limited English Proficiency and others by providing precise and complete interpretation of messages.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm in obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and provide updates to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Kinyarwanda/Kirundi".

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
