This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Meet sales objectives by acquiring new business and enhancing sales within current accounts through upselling and cross-selling strategies.
• Cultivate and maintain a comprehensive understanding of VHL products, the assigned territory, market dynamics, and customer requirements.
• Employ consultative selling techniques and active listening to secure business opportunities and align product solutions with customer demands.
• Manage and strategize territory mapping, develop account penetration methods, and utilize intelligent selling practices.
• Create and deliver targeted sales and training presentations for both print and digital offerings.
• Build and sustain relationships with educators, administrators, existing clients, and prospective customers.
• Engage in national sales meetings, networking events, conferences, and on-site team gatherings.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities while addressing customer concerns.
• Collaborate with Sales, Development, Marketing, and other internal teams.
• Attend networking and sponsorship events to expand contacts and enhance brand visibility.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
• Over 1 year of experience in consultative sales, account management, or a related business development position with a proven success record.
• Experience in the publishing, ed-tech, language learning, or similar sectors of the industry.
• Strong technological aptitude with experience in presenting and conducting demonstrations for diverse audiences, both in-person and online.
• Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal), along with strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, adaptable to various scenarios and audiences.
• Proficiency in utilizing a CRM system to manage sales activities and accounts.
• Excellent skills in prospecting, consultative selling, negotiation, territory management, and active listening.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, effective time management, and follow-through capabilities.
• A strong drive, entrepreneurial mindset, adaptability, and team-oriented approach.
• Experience in strategically managing business travel, including appointment scheduling.
• Strong customer service orientation and business insight.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% within central Texas, and occasionally to other regions without restrictions.
• Familiarity with Salesforce.com is preferred.
• Experience or familiarity with territory-specific school district and purchasing processes is preferred.
• Knowledge of VHL products and our supersite is preferred.
• Working knowledge of the Spanish language is preferred.
• An advanced degree is preferred.
• Candidates must reside in San Antonio or Austin, Texas, and be prepared to travel throughout the territory without restrictions.
