This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Investigate, assess, and quantify insurance claims.
• Evaluate and provide recommendations on coverage, liability, and quantum in accordance with policy terms.
• Manage and adjust assigned claims while adhering to company standards and quality requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive investigations, including interviews and communications with insured parties, claimants, and witnesses.
• Inspect claim sites as necessary and assign external vendors when required.
• Recommend reserves, prepare reports, and negotiate settlements within the granted authority.
• Participate in mediations and arbitrations as needed.
• Collaborate with defense counsel as assigned.
• Maintain accurate records utilizing company-specific computer systems and external client systems.
• Manage billing for assigned files within designated timelines.
• Assist in the collection of accounts receivable for assigned claims.
• Support local branch marketing efforts, attend professional and social events, and cultivate new business opportunities.
• Nurture relationships with existing clients and engage in client file reviews and audits.
• Keep reserves, coding, and reporting current on assigned claims files.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Contribute to the organization's quality programs.
• Completion of post-secondary education.
• Currently holds or is pursuing a CIP designation.
• Must be licensed or have the capability to obtain a provisional license.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
• Demonstrated adjusting and negotiating abilities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer usage.
• Strong understanding of insurance, claims, or business management.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in PC operations, including Microsoft Office products and Excel.
• Ability to navigate and operate within client-required ancillary systems.
• Capability to work effectively in a remote/home office setting.
• Possess analytical and interpretive skills.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
