Junior Urban Development Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take charge of analysis projects by reviewing planning and building regulations under Section 34 of the German Building Code (BauGB) and the German Land Use Ordinance (BauNVO) until final delivery to clients.

• Conduct area calculations for floor area ratio (GFZ), site coverage ratio (GRZ), gross floor area (BGF), and residential floor area.

• Create building volume models and massing studies.

• Prepare financial feasibility assessments and visual representations.

• Transform findings into polished documents for clients.

• Utilize digital and AI tools, including Claude, alongside specialized research agents.

• Facilitate client kickoff and review meetings independently.

• Understand and capture client needs effectively.

• Communicate results clearly and dependably.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, or Civil Engineering.

• In-depth understanding of German planning law, especially Section 34 of the German Building Code (BauGB) and the German Land Use Ordinance (BauNVO).

• Familiarity with area calculations, including GFZ, GRZ, BGF, and residential floor area.

• Experience in massing studies and developing building volumes, preferably using Forma or similar software.

• Proficiency in CAD software such as Vectorworks, Archicad, or Revit.

• Competence in Adobe Creative Cloud for visualizations.

• Strong interest in AI and eagerness to explore AI technologies and software.

• Organized, dependable, and capable of working independently.

• Excellent service orientation with clear and professional communication skills for client interactions.

• Native-level proficiency in German, both spoken and written (C1/C2).

• Desirable English proficiency at B2 level.

• Preferably some experience in urban planning, real estate development, or architecture through internships or student employment.
