Junior Urban Development Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take charge of feasibility studies independently, starting from the planning-law review under Section 34 of the German Building Code (BauGB) and the German Land Use Ordinance (BauNVO) until final delivery to the client.

• Conduct area calculations for floor area ratio (GFZ), site coverage ratio (GRZ), gross floor area (BGF), and residential floor area.

• Create studies on building volumes and massing.

• Prepare financial feasibility assessments and visual presentations.

• Convert findings into professional documents intended for clients.

• Utilize digital and AI tools, such as Claude and specialized research agents.

• Lead client kickoff and review meetings independently.

• Gather client requirements and communicate the results in a clear and reliable manner.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, or Civil Engineering.

• Strong understanding of German planning law, particularly Section 34 of the German Building Code (BauGB) and the German Land Use Ordinance (BauNVO).

• Familiarity with area calculations, including GFZ, GRZ, BGF, and residential floor area.

• Experience in massing studies and the development of building volumes, for instance, using Forma or similar software.

• Proficiency in CAD software such as Vectorworks, Archicad, or Revit.

• Competence in Adobe Creative Cloud for visualization tasks.

• A strong interest in AI and a willingness to enhance knowledge about AI and software.

• A structured, reliable, and independent approach to work.

• A strong service orientation with clear and professional communication with clients.

• German language proficiency at a native-speaker level (C1/C2) in both written and spoken forms.

• English proficiency at a B2 level is preferred.

• Initial experience in urban design, real estate development, or architecture, ideally through internships or working-student roles, is advantageous.
