Junior Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Record and manage routine accounting transactions.

• Assist in the preparation and posting of journal entries.

• Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, balance sheets, and general ledgers.

• Identify and address discrepancies in collaboration with senior team members.

• Ensure accurate maintenance of supporting documentation and vendor records.

• Process vendor invoices and aid in vendor payment procedures.

• Address routine vendor inquiries and resolve any invoice discrepancies.

• Support activities related to monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.

• Prepare account reconciliations along with necessary supporting schedules.

• Assist in financial reporting and respond to data requests.

• Collect documentation for internal and external audits.

• Participate in interim and annual audit processes.

• Adhere to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Engage in accounting and finance projects.

• Cross-train with members of the finance team.

• Provide general accounting and administrative support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 0 to 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or related areas; relevant internships or co-op experience will be taken into account.

• Fundamental understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.

• Familiarity with accounting or ERP software is considered a plus.

• Experience with Sage Intacct, Ramp, HubSpot, or similar systems is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

• Eagerness to learn and grow within the position.
