Senior Accountant – Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage project and general ledger records, including costs, funding, and revenue recognition.

• Create reconciliations, financial analyses, and management reports.

• Evaluate incurred cost submissions.

• Prepare and assess Work In Progress (WIP) schedules.

• Generate certified payroll reports.

• Provide monthly financial information for designated projects.

• Participate in project kick-off meetings for new contracts, as necessary.

• Establish new projects in accordance with contract stipulations, including revenue recognition analysis.

• Track, oversee, and analyze ongoing projects.

• Collaborate with Project Managers and supervisors to ensure that invoices are accurate and dispatched promptly.

• Review accounts payable vouchers and expense reports for correctness and appropriate coding.

• Prepare balance sheets, project ledgers to general ledgers, and conduct bank reconciliations.

• Conduct financial statement analysis and journal entries.

• Assist with audit requests and prepare relevant audit documentation.

• Support research or responsibilities related to intercompany activities.

• Create and maintain amortization schedules for prepaid accounts.

• Prepare sales and use tax returns or gross receipt tax returns as necessary.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Bachelor’s degree may be substituted with five years of progressive accounting experience.

• At least four years of experience in accounting or a closely related field.

• A minimum of one year of experience working for a large organization or another Native Corporation.

• Comprehensive knowledge of economic and accounting principles, as well as G/L practices and procedures.

• Strong understanding of intermediate accounting principles.

• Good grasp of accounting principles associated with fixed assets, construction-in-progress, and revenue recognition.

• Capacity to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing complex invoices.

• Familiarity with computerized accounting systems and the ability to learn company-specific software.

• Deltek Costpoint experience is preferred but not mandatory.

• Proficient in standard computer software, application programs, and email communication.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

• Capability to read and comprehend contracts, agreements, employee handbooks, safety regulations, and company SOPs.

• Must pass a drug test, background check, reference check, and credit evaluation.
