This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Record and manage routine accounting transactions.
• Assist in the preparation and posting of journal entries.
• Execute assigned bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Detect discrepancies and work with senior team members to resolve them.
• Maintain thorough and accurate supporting documentation.
• Process vendor invoices and secure necessary approvals.
• Assist in preparing vendor payments.
• Keep vendor records and supporting documentation current.
• Address routine vendor inquiries and assist in resolving billing discrepancies.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Prepare basic account reconciliations and related schedules.
• Aid the accounting team in generating financial reports and responding to data requests.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks.
• Gather and organize documentation for internal and external audits.
• Participate in interim and annual audit procedures as required.
• Adhere to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Maintain comprehensive and precise accounting records.
• Develop a solid understanding of applicable accounting standards and company procedures.
• Engage in accounting and finance projects.
• Cross-train with finance team members.
• Provide general accounting and administrative assistance.
• Take on additional responsibilities as knowledge and experience grow.
• College diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or a related field; relevant internships and co-op programs will be considered.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Familiarity with accounting software or an ERP is advantageous.
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Ramp, HubSpot, or similar systems is a plus but not mandatory.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities at once and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the position.
