Junior Software Engineer – Entry Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Develop application features within a Python/Django/Vue ecosystem

• Create backend services, APIs, databases, and frontend elements

• Engage in cloud-native deployment methodologies using Azure and Kubernetes

• Innovate in the realm of agentic AI development

• Contribute to an enterprise data fabric platform leveraging Azure Databricks

• Assist in maintaining CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins and associated tools

• Oversee and enhance containerized deployments with Helm and Kubernetes

• Diagnose production and non-production issues across application, infrastructure, and pipeline layers

• Write clear, maintainable code and refine it through peer reviews and feedback

• Develop tests, troubleshoot failures, and elevate engineering quality

• Create technical documentation, implementation notes, and operational runbooks

• Acquire and implement new tools, frameworks, and engineering methodologies

• Support related platform engineering, automation, or data engineering tasks

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical discipline

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience through internships, research, academic projects, or professional software development

• Strong foundational knowledge in programming, data structures, algorithms, and software development principles

• Experience coding in at least one programming language through coursework, projects, research, or internships

• Ability to quickly learn new technologies

• Capable of clear communication and methodical problem-solving

• No substantial professional experience is necessary

• Familiarity with Python is preferred

• Understanding of web development concepts is preferred

• Background in backend development, APIs, or databases is preferred

• Knowledge of Linux, scripting, Git, or command-line tools is preferred

• Awareness of cloud or DevOps concepts is preferred

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Azure, or infrastructure automation is preferred

• Familiarity with Django or similar web frameworks is preferred

• Understanding of SQL and data modeling is preferred
