Junior Software Engineer – Entry Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Develop application features in a Python/Django/Vue ecosystem

• Create backend services, APIs, databases, and frontend elements

• Engage in cloud-native deployment methodologies using Azure and Kubernetes

• Innovate with agentic AI technology development

• Contribute to an enterprise data fabric platform leveraging Azure Databricks and associated technologies

• Assist in CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins and related tools

• Oversee and enhance containerized deployments with Helm and Kubernetes

• Diagnose production and non-production issues across application, infrastructure, and pipeline layers

• Write clean, maintainable code and enhance it through peer reviews and feedback

• Develop tests, debug issues, and elevate engineering quality across the stack

• Generate technical documentation, implementation notes, and operational runbooks

• Acquire and implement new tools, frameworks, and engineering methodologies

• Contribute to platform engineering, automation, or data engineering as required

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical discipline

• 1 year of relevant experience through internships, research, academic projects, or professional software development

• Solid academic background in programming, data structures, algorithms, and software development principles

• Proficient in coding in at least one language through coursework, projects, research, or internships

• Quick to learn new technologies

• Capable of clear communication and methodical problem-solving in technical scenarios

• No significant professional experience required

• Preferred: Familiarity with Python, web development principles, backend development, APIs, databases, Linux, scripting, Git, command-line tools, cloud or DevOps concepts, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Azure, infrastructure automation, Django or similar web frameworks, SQL, and data modeling
