This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Develop and enhance well-defined APIs and backend services utilizing Python and FastAPI.
• Assist in the development and evaluation of optimization models through constraint programming, linear programming, and mixed-integer programming (MIP).
• Contribute to computational geometry systems that transform plan-derived data into organized 3D building models.
• Aid in implementing simulation and constraint systems that encapsulate construction regulations, structural relationships, and material arrangements.
• Produce clean, testable, and maintainable Python code for numerical and algorithmic frameworks.
• Troubleshoot model performance, analyze failures, and enhance efficiency via profiling, testing, and solver optimization.
• Integrate optimization systems into the wider plan ingestion and design workflow alongside senior software, ML, and platform engineers.
• Document your work, share updates on progress and challenges, and adopt best practices for reliability, deployment, and production support.
• 1–2 years of professional experience, internships, research, or comparable project work in software engineering, optimization, computational mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong foundational knowledge in Python and experience in developing substantial software or numerical projects.
• Coursework or hands-on experience in operations research, optimization, algorithms, numerical methods, or a closely related discipline.
• Familiarity with essential data structures, algorithms, and computational complexity.
• Some experience with computational geometry, geometric modeling, simulation, or spatial algorithms.
• Knowledge of Linux and Git.
• Eagerness to learn about production development and deployment methodologies.
• Experience with OR solvers such as Gurobi, CPLEX, SCIP, or OR-Tools is a plus.
• Academic, internship, or personal project experience in computational geometry, geometric modeling, or spatial algorithms is advantageous.
• Experience in building APIs using FastAPI or another Python web framework is a plus.
• Familiarity with profiling, numerical performance enhancement, or simulation tasks is a bonus.
• Knowledge of construction, CAD, manufacturing, robotics, or engineering sectors is a bonus.
