Junior Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Assist with fundamental tasks to guarantee the scalability, availability, and efficiency of cloud and distributed systems.

• Work alongside Senior SREs to identify, resolve, and avert production incidents.

• Automate operational activities and oversee configurations through scripting and Infrastructure as Code tools.

• Help monitor and maintain service health by utilizing observability platforms and dashboards.

• Engage in incremental task delivery, assess complexity, manage dependencies, and navigate ambiguous requirements with guidance.

• Take part in an on-call rotation and contribute to blameless postmortems.

• Commit to continuous learning and progressively take ownership of tasks and their impact.

• Assist in the development and upkeep of core infrastructure and engineering practices.

• Contribute to the creation of reliable and scalable platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• A motivated learner with a growth mindset, keen to enhance SRE skills.

• Foundational experience in at least one programming language, such as Python or Go.

• Basic understanding of cloud environments, preferably AWS.

• Fundamental knowledge of distributed systems concepts.

• Familiarity with containers and orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes, is an advantage.

• Interest in Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform.

• Exposure to CI/CD tools, including GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Ability to manage tasks reliably, communicate effectively, and maintain clear documentation.

• Passion for reliability engineering principles, encompassing incident management, monitoring, and service level management.
