Junior Accountant – Part-time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Record and uphold journal entries, ledgers, and financial transactions.

• Manage accounts payable, which includes handling invoices from subcontractors and steel/material suppliers.

• Oversee accounts receivable and assist with progress billings and tracking of retention.

• Conduct bank and account reconciliations, addressing any discrepancies that arise.

• Aid in month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Keep financial documentation and job files well-organized.

• Support senior accounting personnel with job cost data entry and ensure proper coding to the relevant jobs.

• Assist in gathering labor and material cost data extracted from Tekla PowerFab.

• Facilitate the preparation of change order and lien waiver documentation.

• Help with basic variance reporting under supervision.

• Provide necessary documentation to assist with internal and external audits.

• Contribute to maintaining compliance with GAAP and company regulations.

• Support OCIP/Non-OCIP insurance billing documentation for larger projects.

• Offer general administrative assistance to the finance team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing).

• 0–2 years of accounting experience; internships will be considered.

• Familiarity with construction or manufacturing accounting is advantageous.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, VLOOKUP, and basic pivot tables).

• Knowledge of accounting software such as Netsuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.

• Strong attention to detail and precision.

• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• High level of integrity and confidentiality.

• Willingness to learn about the construction and steel fabrication industry.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
