Journeyman Naval Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to deliver naval architectural support.

• Aid the senior Naval Architect in the design, development, and assessment of marine vessel operations.

• Provide support to the US Coast Guard in evaluating third-party design modifications and enhancements to mechanical systems and components.

• Assist in conducting naval architecture analyses pertinent to vessels.

• Contribute to the stability analysis of ships.

• Support the design of comprehensive hulls and superstructures in accordance with specifications and test data, ensuring compliance with safety, efficiency, and economy standards.

• Assist the Senior Naval Architect in supervising the construction and testing of prototypes in a model basin.

• Assess craft performance during dock and sea trials to identify necessary design modifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Capability to obtain a Secret clearance.

• Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering.

• Over 5 years of relevant experience.
