Journeyman Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain automated data pipelines, encompassing the extraction, transformation, and loading processes across diverse and extensive source data.

• Establish automated data quality assessments, validation criteria, error management, and logging mechanisms.

• Develop and uphold metadata tagging and data lineage to ensure analytical outcomes can be traced back to their source records.

• Manage pipeline code, configuration, and infrastructure-as-code within a government version control framework.

• Adequately document pipelines to facilitate independent redeployment.

• Enhance existing models through hyperparameter optimization, cross-validation, and feature engineering.

• Create dashboards and visual representations that effectively convey analytical insights.

• Collaborate within a diverse team of cost analysts and engineers.

• Convert analytical findings into actionable recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least five years of experience in data science.

• Expertise in Python and R, including data manipulation libraries and machine learning frameworks for exploratory analysis and model development.

• Proficient in developing and maintaining data pipelines, with a strong understanding of extraction, transformation, and loading processes and frameworks.

• Advanced proficiency with Databricks or a similar platform for effective data collection, transformation, and loading.

• Ability to present findings using visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

• Experience collaborating with diverse teams and translating data-driven insights into practical recommendations.

• Active Secret clearance required upon hiring.

• United States citizenship is mandatory.

• Top Secret with SCI eligibility is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Apache Spark and cloud-based data warehousing.

• Exposure to federal acquisition, financial, or program management data.

• Experience working within a government-authorized cloud environment.
