This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create, prototype, and assess models that provide tailored college, career, and pathway suggestions.
• Utilize statistical modeling, machine learning, and generative AI to evaluate and enhance product functionalities.
• Assess model performance, equity, bias, and suitable application.
• Develop data collection strategies that capture student behavior, performance, and engagement.
• Analyze pilot and user-study data, translating insights into actionable product suggestions.
• Establish metrics and experiments to assess recommendation quality and product influence.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop scalable, cloud-based data pipelines.
• Transition models from prototype phase to full production.
• Integrate various data sources including student, educational, assessment, skills, career, and labor-market information.
• Create protocols for data security, model documentation, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Formulate recommendations that remain relevant despite incomplete student data and evolve with changing information.
• Leverage behavioral and performance data to enhance personalized and adaptive product experiences.
• Ensure model outputs are clear and actionable for stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively across product, engineering, research, design, and business teams.
• Convert research and business requirements into data collection strategies and technical solutions.
• Convey analytical results, assumptions, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, economics, operations research, or a related quantitative field, or a comparable mix of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of practical data science experience, including the development of statistical or machine learning models and analysis of product experiments, pilots, or user studies.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Experience in creating scalable data pipelines.
• Familiarity with transitioning data products or models from prototype to production.
• Strong skills in statistical modeling, machine learning, experimental design, and model assessment.
• Experience with scalable data pipelines, cloud infrastructures, and the integration of complex data sources.
• Proven ability to use behavioral and performance data to craft personalized product experiences.
• Understanding of responsible AI principles, including fairness, bias reduction, transparency, privacy, and appropriate usage.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship.
• A Master's degree in data science or a related discipline is preferred.
• Experience with recommender systems, generative AI, natural language processing, or personalized and adaptive systems is advantageous.
• Familiarity with education, assessment, career, workforce, labor-market, occupational, or skills data is a plus.
• Completion of the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate is recommended.
