Java Web Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assist in enhancing, refining, and upgrading databases according to company standards.

• Analyze, design, develop, and conduct unit tests for robust software solutions that fulfill business needs.

• Play a role in the architecture and implementation of software solutions.

• Take ownership of assigned tasks, deliver progress updates, and escalate issues when necessary.

• Adhere to established team practices and utilize approved code management tools.

• Clearly document solutions to enable other team members to continue the work effectively.

• Maintain and enhance new functionalities as per agreed specifications.

• Write new code, perform unit tests, and conduct code reviews.

• Ensure that system security complies with specified standards and that new features adhere to best practices.

• Engage throughout the development lifecycle, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance.

• Investigate issues and offer practical, high-quality IT solutions.

• Share insights gained and propose process enhancements.

• Support the project lifecycle, including testing and participating in out-of-hours deployments when necessary.

• Report to the Head of Business Systems, keeping the Business Systems Manager and relevant teams informed.

• Proficient knowledge/experience in Java.

• Proficient knowledge/experience in Spring Boot.

• Experience in developing REST Services.

• Familiarity with microservices.

• Proficient knowledge/experience in SQL.

• Proficient knowledge/experience in Maven.

• Proficient knowledge/experience in GIT.

• GCSE English Language with a minimum Grade B, or an equivalent Level 2 qualification.

• Alternatively, attainment of Level 2 in Literacy Assessment during the interview process.

• Desirable knowledge/experience in Azure, IntelliJ, and Mockito.

• Experience working with publicly funded or Government contract requirements is desirable.

• Demonstrable understanding of management information systems is desirable.

• Experience delivering high-quality advisory and guidance services to internal clients is desirable.

• Proactive and innovative problem solver.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Demonstrable project management experience.
