Staff Software Engineer, Front End

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the decision-making process for front-end architecture across the NodeZero platform.

• Create scalable, maintainable, and reusable UI systems and application patterns.

• Oversee large cross-functional projects that involve multiple engineering teams.

• Identify and mitigate technical debt in shared front-end infrastructure.

• Establish and enhance front-end best practices, standards, and engineering guidelines.

• Enhance application reliability, observability, accessibility, and performance.

• Collaborate with Design to elevate product consistency and usability.

• Define the long-term technical vision for the front-end platform.

• Enhance shared tooling, component systems, and developer workflows.

• Drive advancements in CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, local development experiences, and review environments.

• Develop reusable frameworks and abstractions that streamline feature development.

• Contribute directly to production code using React and TypeScript.

• Conduct code reviews and offer high-quality technical feedback.

• Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers throughout the development lifecycle.

• Engage in technical planning, roadmap discussions, and architecture reviews.

• Assist teams in overcoming challenges and provide technical guidance for complex implementations.

• Mentor engineers across various teams.

• Shape engineering culture, review quality, and development practices.

• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership.

• Support the growth of future technical leaders and architects.

• Over 8 years of experience in building modern web applications deployed at scale.

• Profound expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and React.

• Strong grasp of modern front-end architecture and application design.

• Proven experience leading significant technical initiatives across multiple teams.

• Skilled in designing reusable component systems and scalable UI patterns.

• In-depth knowledge of application state management, asynchronous data flows, and API integration patterns.

• Experience enhancing front-end performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities for front-end and full-stack systems.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.

• Ability to excel in fast-paced, highly collaborative environments with shifting priorities.

• Familiarity with GraphQL and modern API-driven architectures.

• Experience working within a monorepo environment.

• Knowledge of modern build systems and tooling.

• Familiarity with cloud-native environments and AWS.

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog.

• Experience collaborating closely with Product Design and Design Systems.

• Preferred experience in the cybersecurity or offensive security domain.

• Preferred experience utilizing AI-assisted development workflows and engineering tools.
