Java Developer – Senior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices within the pricing domain, ensuring optimal performance and availability in production environments.

• Design and implement synchronous integrations (REST/OpenFeign) and establish a distributed cache (Redis) among services in the pricing ecosystem.

• Create automated unit and integration tests, upholding a minimum coverage requirement of ≥90% per class using JaCoCo.

• Engage in code reviews to ensure compliance with Checkstyle, SpotBugs/FindSecBugs, and Clean Code standards.

• Participate throughout the entire software lifecycle: analyzing requirements, technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-release monitoring.

• Diagnose and resolve production incidents through troubleshooting, observability, structured logging, and metrics, while collaborating with relevant squads.

• Contribute to architectural decisions regarding resilience, OpenAPI contract versioning, and code quality utilizing SonarQube.

• Document technical decisions, OpenAPI/Swagger endpoints, and established business rules.

• Collaborate with Product, QA, and other Engineering squads in technical discussions and prioritizing the backlog.

• Work with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, manage branching workflows, and handle deployments in Kubernetes environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent proven experience.

• Strong experience in Java backend development.

• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot / Spring Cloud in production settings.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Experience in automated testing (JUnit, Mockito) and a culture of code quality.

• Proficiency in Java 17.

• Experience with Spring Boot 3.x and Spring Cloud (Config, OpenFeign, OAuth2 Client, Circuit Breaker/Resilience4j).

• Knowledge of Redis (distributed cache).

• Proficient in MapStruct, Lombok, and Jackson.

• Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger (springdoc) and contract generation using openapi-generator.

• Experience with JUnit 5, Mockito, and AssertJ.

• Proficient with Maven.

• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with GitLab CI/CD.

• Familiarity with SonarQube, Checkstyle, and SpotBugs/FindSecBugs.

• Knowledge of Oracle/SQL for business data analysis.

• Experience in pricing, discounts, or e-commerce/retail is advantageous.

• Java (OCP) or Spring (VMware Spring Professional) certifications are beneficial.

• Familiarity with observability and experience with feature flags are desirable.

• Strong communication skills, autonomy, and ownership of end-to-end deliveries.

• Ability to propose and engage in discussions about architectural decisions with the team.
