Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop, test, and uphold code for essential financial microservices utilizing contemporary Java, including Java 21.

• Create dependable solutions leveraging microservices, REST APIs, and message-driven methodologies.

• Implement Kiro and Claude Code throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Define technical tasks, generate code, troubleshoot production issues, and create unit and integration test suites.

• Engage in code reviews and adhere to team best practices.

• Work collaboratively with other teams and contribute reusable components via an inner-source approach.

• Manage and support AWS and Terraform infrastructure resources.

• Collaborate with the product team to grasp technical requirements and achieve business objectives.

• Actively seek and share knowledge within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience with Java and microservices architecture.

• Strong foundation in data structures, design patterns, testing, and debugging.

• Practical experience incorporating AI development tools into engineering workflows.

• Capability to assess, refactor, and validate AI-generated outputs.

• Knowledge of system design and reliability engineering principles.

• Familiarity with relational databases like MySQL or Postgres and message brokers.

• Proficient in using Docker containers.

• Experience with CI/CD practices utilizing Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

• Proficient with Git.

• Knowledge of core AWS services including ECS, EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and RDS.

• Familiarity with observability tools such as DataDog or AWS CloudWatch.
