Japanese/English OPI/VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology relevant to the healthcare and medical industry, as training will be provided.

• Accurately convey all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting any content.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing accurate and complete interpretation of messages.

• Implement standards of practice in your work.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Demonstrate a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and provide reports to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code standards for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English).

• Native speaker of the target language "Japanese."

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation at a well-known interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus, but not essential.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is beneficial.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is advantageous (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
