This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Provision new Windows and Mac laptops for employees from start to finish, including JumpCloud enrollment, user binding, and the implementation of security groups and policies.
• Create and manage JumpCloud user accounts while coordinating the establishment and access of Google Workspace accounts.
• Ensure that BitLocker/FileVault disk encryption is enabled prior to the shipment of devices.
• Configure and confirm Chrome Remote Desktop and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) on managed devices.
• Troubleshoot issues related to login, activation, and account lockouts.
• Monitor and maintain VPN servers, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) and/or file-exchange servers, as well as internal tools.
• Investigate and resolve backend and application problems impacting clinical staff by reviewing logs and correlating services to identify the root cause.
• Coordinate necessary fixes and deployments with engineering when changes to code or infrastructure are required.
• Keep documentation up to date for systems, credentials, and runbooks.
• Act as the main point of contact for Information Technology issues reported via Slack or ticketing systems.
• Manage hardware inventory, shipping, and logistics for new-hire equipment.
• Oversee offboarding processes, including account deactivation, device wiping and return, and revocation of access.
• Create clear, non-technical guidance and documentation for end users.
• Around two (2) years of experience in Information Technology support, administration, or device management.
• Practical experience with a cloud identity/device management platform (such as JumpCloud, Intune, Jamf, or similar).
• Knowledge of Virtual Private Network (VPN) technologies (e.g., WireGuard, OpenVPN).
• Proficient in both Windows and Mac operating systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to read logs and work through problems to identify root causes.
• Skill in translating technical issues into understandable terms for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to manage a problem from identification to resolution with minimal supervision.
• Preferred: Experience with basic cloud infrastructure (such as GCP, AWS, or similar).
• Preferred: Exposure to healthcare environments or those adhering to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Preferred: Experience in administering Google Workspace.
• Preferred: Scripting skills (in PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automating repetitive tasks.
• Preferred: Experience with Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) and file-exchange server administration.
• Preferred: Familiarity with work-management tools like Slack, Monday.com, or similar.
