IT Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Enhance the value generated by the agile backend team within the Agile Release Train (ART)

• Collaborate with Business Owners, Product Management, System Architects, and other Product Owners to comprehend the vision and roadmap

• Gather, clarify, and evaluate stakeholder needs and requests

• Align priorities, requirements, scope boundaries, assumptions, and decisions with both business and technical stakeholders

• Shape the evolution of the domain and its technical roadmap

• Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog

• Organize the backlog into incremental releases

• Convert product features into detailed technical user stories for backend services and domain logic

• Establish functional and non-functional acceptance criteria and ensure testability

• Coordinate integration points across domains to ensure product and release coherence

• Provide transparency regarding scope, priorities, status, risks, and dependencies

• Participate in Scrum and SAFe events, including ART ceremonies and PI planning

• Monitor progress and manage prioritization and resolution of production issues

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• 2–5 years of professional experience as an IT Product Owner collaborating with agile development teams

• Strong facilitation and communication skills, capable of aligning business and technical stakeholders

• Ability to provide clear product direction and unite a cross-functional development team around shared goals and priorities

• Analytical abilities paired with a creative, solution-oriented mindset

• Thorough understanding of SAFe (team and program level), including ART ceremonies and PI planning

• Solid knowledge of backend development, APIs, and domain-driven system design

• Demonstrated experience in requirements analysis, story slicing, and prioritization

• Quality-oriented mindset (“shift left”: considering testability, NFRs, DoR/DoD from the outset)

• Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in German is an advantage

• Eager to learn about new topics
