This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Assist in the implementation, upkeep, and functioning of IP/MPLS network infrastructure.

β€’ Aid in the testing and validation of network technologies and configurations in both lab and production settings.

β€’ Engage in network upgrades, deployments, and documentation activities.

β€’ Diagnose network issues and collaborate with senior engineers to resolve intricate problems.

β€’ Partner with network operations and engineering teams to ensure the delivery of reliable and scalable network services.

β€’ Monitor network performance and help identify areas for enhancement.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ 4-5 years of experience in networking, telecommunications, ISP, or carrier Ethernet settings.

β€’ Basic understanding of IP networking concepts and principles of network engineering.

β€’ Practical experience with routers and switches, ideally on the Nokia/Alcatel platform.

β€’ Familiarity with routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, or IS-IS.

β€’ Knowledge of MPLS concepts and carrier networking technologies.

β€’ Understanding of Layer 2 technologies such as VLANs, STP, and LACP.

β€’ Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.

β€’ Capacity to work remotely and collaboratively in a team-focused environment.

β€’ Willingness to learn new technologies and advance within a network engineering career.

β€’ Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

β€’ Preferred: Nokia NRS I certification or other entry-level networking certifications (CCNA, JNCIA, etc.).

β€’ Preferred: Experience with data center networking and transport technologies such as fiber, microwave, or cellular networks.

β€’ Preferred: Background in a service provider or telecommunications environment.

β€’ Availability to work Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, during standard daytime hours in the Alaska time zone.
