This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Contribute to the firm's Intellectual Property practice as an IP Assistant.
• Assist with the full spectrum of patent prosecution activities, from application filing to patent issuance.
• Manage docketing, billing, client communications, and status updates.
• Prepare and file documents with the USPTO.
• Draft utility, design, provisional, and plant patent applications, along with associated prosecution documents.
• Retrieve Information Disclosure Statement references from accessible online databases.
• Review and format documents created by attorneys, patent agents, and technical advisors.
• Ensure adherence to USPTO regulations and the firm’s operational procedures.
• A minimum of 2 years of general IP experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively prioritize tasks.
• Strong organizational skills coupled with proficient writing abilities.
• Excellent proofreading capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capacity to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in computer usage, particularly with Chrome and Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 20 lbs.
• A high school diploma or GED certificate is required.
• A college degree is advantageous.
