Investment and Valuation Committee Member

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Make decisions regarding investment and divestment matters of the Fund in accordance with the investment strategy.

• Conduct an annual review of the entire investment portfolio.

• Evaluate valuations suggested by the Fund Manager.

• Participate in approximately four committee meetings each year.

• Prepare for meetings, dedicating an estimated 8–9 days annually.

• Serve a preliminary four-year term as an independent member of the Investment and Valuation Committee for the uMunthu II fund.

⛳️ Requirements

• A proven history of success in an executive leadership position.

• Excellent diplomatic, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of the local market, acquired through years of living and working in an African Region (SA, EA, or WA).

• Significant experience in development finance and impact investing, ideally within the agricultural sector.

• Clear understanding of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) principles.

• Expertise in investment banking, corporate finance, and valuations, or a commitment to enhancing these skills to meet the committee's long-term technical requirements.

• Willingness to dedicate adequate time to fulfill responsibilities as a committee member.

• Capability to travel occasionally for face-to-face meetings.
