Inventory Planning Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Assist in the creation, execution, and ongoing enhancement of Inventory Planning processes and procedures within the RealTruck S&OP framework.

• Evaluate inventory levels across manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and product categories to pinpoint shortages, excess and obsolete inventory, along with opportunities for enhancing inventory health and working capital.

• Assess inventory targets and planning parameters in relation to demand, lead times, supply performance, product lifecycle, and corporate inventory goals.

• Formulate and uphold inventory policies that encompass safety stock, stocking strategies, replenishment parameters, minimum and maximum inventory levels, economic order quantities, and Kanban sizing.

• Create, maintain, and analyze inventory dashboards and KPIs, including inventory value, days of supply, inventory turns, fill rate, service level, excess and obsolete inventory, and performance against targets.

• Evaluate inventory positioning throughout distribution and manufacturing networks, recommending strategies to enhance product availability, minimize excess inventory, and optimize deployment.

• Analyze historical demand, forecast performance, lead times, order quantities, and inventory consumption trends.

• Support ongoing improvement initiatives aimed at inventory optimization, working capital reduction, service-level enhancement, and visibility of inventory performance.

• Identify slow-moving and surplus inventory, collaborating with cross-functional teams on mitigation strategies such as inventory rebalancing, consumption plans, stocking policy changes, and corrective measures.

• Collaborate with Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Operations, Procurement, and other business units.

• Deliver presentations to senior management and engage cross-functionally with manufacturing, sales, and finance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance, Economics, or a similarly analytical field is necessary.

• 2-5+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain or Operational Finance is required.

• Proficiency in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Inventory Management.

• Familiarity with top-tier ERP/MRP systems, including their usage, calibration, and parameter settings.

• Experience with Excel and Access.

• Ability to effectively present information to senior management.

• Capacity to analyze and convey numerical data using analytical skills.

• Competence in working collaboratively across manufacturing, sales, and finance departments.

• Occasional travel may be necessary.

• Capability for sedentary work, including prolonged sitting with occasional walking and standing.

• Close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing computer screens, reading, inspecting, measuring, and related activities.
