Inventory Analytics, Governance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Inventory, Data Analytics, Distribution Center, and Merchandising teams on inventory initiatives from conception and pilot stages through testing, implementation, and benefit realization.

• Take ownership of and maintain the evaluation rubric for inventory alterations, including evidence standards, financial thresholds, and approval criteria.

• Keep audit trails for changes in inventory parameters, policy decisions, and test results.

• Ensure that Blue Yonder settings, Weeks of Supply (WOS) targets, safety stock, and other planning parameter modifications adhere to governance protocols.

• Identify problems, design tests or pilot programs, define measurement methods, monitor results, and synthesize recommendations.

• Assess financial implications including working capital, inventory investments, write-off risks, and in-stock performance.

• Develop and maintain analytical frameworks and models for consistent inventory policy and system-change decisions.

• Monitor inventory investment impacts against anticipated outcomes.

• Convert inventory decisions into financial terminology regarding working capital, margins, and service levels.

• Integrate internally developed applications with enterprise planning platforms such as Blue Yonder.

• Provide guidance to partners on relevant tools, workflows, and data and decision flows.

• Contribute governance and analytical insights into tool development and enhancement.

• Identify gaps in tool connectivity and suggest improvements.

• Create and uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and decision frameworks.

• Conduct training on self-service tools and analytical resources.

• Clearly define and communicate when partners can operate independently versus when involvement from Forecasting & Replenishment is necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in supply chain, inventory management, inventory planning, or a related analytical field.

• 2–3 years of experience using SQL.

• Familiarity with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake or equivalent technologies.

• 2–3 years of experience with inventory planning systems like Blue Yonder, JDA, or similar.

• Capability to construct or implement a structured decision framework or rubric in an operational environment.

• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.

• Proficiency in designing tests, interpreting results, and presenting findings effectively.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Statistics, Operations Management, or a related discipline is required.

• Experience with Python, Databricks, or other advanced analytics tools is preferred.

• Background in S&OP, IBP, or inventory governance functions is preferred.

• Knowledge of working capital metrics and inventory investment tracking is preferred.

• Experience in developing SOPs or process documentation on an enterprise scale is preferred.

• Exposure to next-generation planning platforms or system implementation projects is preferred.

• Understanding of enterprise planning tool integration with internally developed analytics applications is preferred.

• APICS, CSCMP, or equivalent supply chain certification is preferred.
