Intern, Financial Literacy Podcast

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate on the financial literacy podcasts of the Marketplace, including "This Is Uncomfortable" and "Million Bazillion".

• Create financial literacy programs that focus on informative explainers and human-centered news you can utilize.

• Produce podcast episodes independently from inception to completion with minimal oversight.

• Modify and expand journalistic content across various platforms such as video, social media, and digital outlets.

• Capture and uphold the distinct voice and tone of specific brands or shows.

• Engage in brainstorming, booking, preparation, tape editing, script writing, feedback implementation, and fact-checking for "This Is Uncomfortable".

• Work alongside producers to shape scripted episodes of "Million Bazillion".

• Conduct interviews, edit audio, and carry out sound design.

• Conduct research, verify facts, prepare hosts, and ensure script accuracy.

• Collaborate with digital teams and producers on web and social media extensions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a college or university, or have graduated within the past 18 months.

• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) during the internship.

• Some professional newsroom experience (e.g., college newspaper, radio station, magazine, etc.).

• Demonstrated interest or experience in financial literacy, the impact of money in our lives, or the economy.

• Some familiarity with audio platforms.

• Interest or experience in working on a weekly podcast (preferred).

• Interest and possibly some experience in short-form video (preferred).

• Interest in comedy, pop culture, and children's educational entertainment (preferred).

• Must be capable of performing essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Required to navigate an office environment and sit for extended durations.

• Required to move about the community.

• Frequent use of hands for data entry, keystrokes, and simple grasping tasks.
