Intern, Data Science, Biostatistics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist in the preparation, cleaning, validation, and documentation of clinical, registry, and research datasets.

• Execute descriptive and inferential statistical analyses under the guidance of senior team members.

• Aid in study design, sample size and power calculations, statistical analysis plans, and result interpretation.

• Develop and assess statistical models, such as regression, survival analysis, longitudinal analysis, and mixed-effects models.

• Create reproducible analytical workflows utilizing R, Python, SAS, or other approved statistical tools.

• Conduct quality-control reviews on data, code, tables, figures, and analytical outputs.

• Generate tables, figures, data visualizations, and summaries tailored for scientific and business audiences.

• Contribute to literature reviews, manuscripts, abstracts, conference materials, and presentations.

• Engage in team meetings, code reviews, documentation tasks, and research best practices.

• Collaborate with biostatisticians, data scientists, clinicians, and research partners in study design, analysis, interpretation, and scientific communication.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing an MS or PhD degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Foundational understanding of statistical methods, research design, and interpretation of quantitative findings.

• Experience in statistical programming using R.

• Familiarity with healthcare, clinical, cardiovascular, registry, or population health data.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

• Commitment to reproducible research, data integrity, and thorough documentation.

• Capability to communicate effectively and collaborate with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

• Coursework or hands-on experience in regression modeling, survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis, causal inference, clinical trials, or observational research.

• Ability to convey project details to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities across various entities.

• Intermediate to excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Reliable WiFi connection is necessary.

• Minimum availability of 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future.

• For remote positions, work must be conducted within the United States, not in a foreign country.

• Additional experience in Python or SAS is advantageous.

• Familiarity with AI/ML/LLM is preferred.

• Experience in creating publication-ready tables and figures or contributing to scientific writing is a plus.

• Familiarity with version control, code review, or reproducible workflow practices is preferred.
