This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create conceptual, analytical, and numerical models for water resources systems to assess hydrology, hydraulics, water balance, and water quality utilizing tools like HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, DELFT3D, GoldSim, and various other relevant modeling platforms.
• Design and sustain mine water balance models to evaluate operations, treatment necessities, closure, and long-term maintenance scenarios.
• Conduct data analysis, coding and scripting, along with GIS tasks.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to innovate new water resources and water quality models while updating existing ones.
• Prepare, support, and produce comprehensive design documentation, specifications, drawings, calculations, and technical reports.
• Draft and review technical reports.
• Advise clients on emerging regulatory developments, technologies, and best practices.
• Guarantee projects comply with local, provincial, and federal regulatory standards while navigating permitting and environmental compliance.
• Contribute to business development by supporting proposals, identifying client needs, and estimating project costs.
• Engage with technical experts to accomplish multidisciplinary project objectives.
• Communicate with clients, assessors, and government regulators.
• Offer technical insights to projects within areas of expertise.
• Mentor and provide technical training to junior team members.
• Execute other related responsibilities as required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources Engineering, or a comparable engineering or scientific discipline.
• 4 - 6 years of pertinent experience with a proven track record in water resources-related projects.
• Proven experience in managing large datasets, analyzing and interpreting water resources-related information, and evaluating model projections.
• Capability to work effectively with team members as well as lead independent projects.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software.
• Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and work autonomously or collaboratively within a team.
