This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Interact with utility clients to comprehend the effects of distributed energy resources on distribution systems.
β’ Grasp client business requirements and align solutions to fulfill and surpass those expectations.
β’ Engage in requirements management and spearhead the creation of approved, traceable requirements.
β’ Work in collaboration with Technical Leads and Solution Specialists on solution architecture.
β’ Establish success criteria and compose solution diagrams.
β’ Implement GE GridOS DERMS solutions within client environments.
β’ Develop network models, load and generation forecasts, planning scenarios, and generation cost data.
β’ Generate scripts and automate data processing systems.
β’ Transform and validate CIM distribution network models and powerflow results.
β’ Oversee custom adapter, connector, API, and microservice design and development.
β’ Deliver integrated solutions through full-stack development, backend services, middleware, and presentation layers.
β’ Work collaboratively with Service Engineering to complete custom tasks on schedule and within budget.
β’ Address client inquiries, bugs, and product suggestions, while filing tickets for the Product team.
β’ Direct project scenario simulations and client-specific testing.
β’ Manage factory and site acceptance testing.
β’ Troubleshoot software bugs and document issues thoroughly.
β’ Automate solution processes and workflows utilizing API documentation.
β’ Analyze project data and results comprehensively.
β’ Report on project outcomes and present findings to stakeholders.
β’ Design and document solutions, requirements, acceptance criteria, and features.
β’ Define user acceptance testing processes, test cases, and progress metrics.
β’ Collaborate with Project Managers to standardize processes and deliverables.
β’ Create business cases and product requirements, including regulatory needs when applicable.
β’ Develop demonstrations, user acceptance documentation, and training materials.
β’ Train utility clients and end users on GE GridOS DERMS.
β’ Identify delivery risks and propose mitigation strategies.
β’ Assist sales activities with technical demonstrations and identify potential upsell opportunities.
β’ Partner with the Solutions team to enhance solution consulting and delivery practices.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in engineering or a related field, focusing on power systems, or relevant experience.
β’ Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
β’ In-depth knowledge of the electricity industry.
β’ Strong analytical skills, particularly in requirements elicitation and management.
β’ Ability to trace requirements back to design specifications and test plans/cases.
β’ Experience in process automation and utilizing or creating scripting solutions.
β’ Proficient in software development with a solid understanding of the SDLC.
β’ Experience in integrating custom solutions into products.
β’ Familiarity with emerging energy industry trends and their implications for utility clients in DER management, distribution planning, IT, SCADA, and asset management.
β’ Practical experience deploying solutions to the AWS cloud; certification is a plus.
β’ Full-stack development experience in enterprise software, including backend development, scripting, Java, Python, and database connector experience.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
β’ Genuine enthusiasm for new tools and technology, with the ability to quickly learn new software.
