This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Engage with utility clients to comprehend the effects of distributed energy resources on distribution systems.
• Assess client business requirements and align GE GridOS DERMS solutions accordingly.
• Oversee requirements management, ensuring they are traceable to the solution design and QA test cases.
• Collaborate with Technical Leads and Solution Specialists to establish solution architecture, success criteria, and solution diagrams.
• Implement GE GridOS DERMS solutions in client environments and prepare data related to network, forecasting, planning scenarios, and generation costs.
• Develop scripts and automate data processing systems.
• Convert and validate CIM distribution network models along with powerflow results.
• Spearhead the design and development of custom adapters, connectors, APIs, and microservices.
• Create comprehensive full-stack integrated solutions across backend, middleware, and presentation layers.
• Work with Service Engineering to ensure the timely and budget-compliant delivery of custom tasks.
• Address client inquiries, bugs, and product suggestions, and submit tickets to the Product team.
• Lead project scenario simulations and client-specific testing, including factory and site acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot software bugs and document issues as they arise.
• Automate solution processes and workflows leveraging APIs.
• Analyze project data and outcomes.
• Present project results and findings to stakeholders.
• Define project goals, objectives, requirements, functionality, acceptance criteria, and user acceptance testing.
• Develop business cases and product requirements, incorporating regulatory needs where applicable.
• Standardize processes and deliverables in collaboration with Project Managers across projects.
• Create user acceptance documentation and training materials.
• Educate utility clients and end-users on GE GridOS DERMS.
• Identify delivery risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Assist sales efforts with technical demonstrations and pinpoint potential upsell opportunities.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, focusing on power systems, or equivalent experience.
• Over 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of the electricity industry.
• Excellent analytical skills, including requirements elicitation and management.
• Capability to trace requirements back to design specifications and testing plans/cases.
• Experience in automating processes and utilizing or creating scripting solutions.
• Software development experience with a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Familiarity with integrating custom solutions into a product.
• Knowledge of DER management, distribution planning, IT, SCADA, and asset management.
• Proficient in Java, Python, and database connectors.
• Practical experience in deploying solutions to AWS cloud; certification is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to tailor solutions to client needs and tackle complex problems.
• A genuine interest in emerging tools and technologies, with a quick learning ability for new software.
