Intermediate Java Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, maintain, and improve backend services, APIs, and microservices utilizing Java.

• Introduce new features aligned with business and technical specifications.

• Work collaboratively with product managers, frontend developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to provide scalable and dependable solutions.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code that adheres to engineering best practices.

• Engage in code reviews and enhance code quality and development standards.

• Diagnose, debug, and address production and non-production issues.

• Architect and implement integrations with both internal and external systems.

• Create and sustain RESTful APIs and event-driven solutions.

• Track application performance and aid in ensuring system reliability, scalability, and observability.

• Participate in ongoing improvement initiatives concerning architecture, development processes, and operational excellence.

• Develop technology that supports BEES, AB InBev’s B2B commerce platform serving merchants and retailers across 29 countries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English at an intermediate level.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.

• Proven experience in developing backend applications using Java.

• Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Clean Code, SOLID principles, and software design patterns.

• Familiarity with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.

• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Understanding of microservices architecture and concepts of distributed systems.

• Proficient with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.

• Knowledge of messaging platforms such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.

• Experience with Git and collaborative development processes.

• Acquainted with unit and integration testing practices and frameworks.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Understanding of observability concepts, such as logging, monitoring, and metrics.

• Nice to have: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Redis.

• Nice to have: Experience with event-driven architectures.

• Nice to have: Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).

• Nice to have: Experience with monitoring tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus.
