
Interim Finance Manager – 6-Month Maternity Leave Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.
• Provide coverage for maternity leave from November 9, 2026, to April 30, 2027.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes in alignment with US GAAP.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial documentation.
• Maintain controls, documentation, and review trails that ensure reporting accuracy and integrity.
• Create weekly and monthly management reporting packages and financial dashboards for senior leadership.
• Assist with variance analysis, KPI reporting, and performance management reporting.
• Manage financial reporting and consolidations for multiple entities and currencies, including CAD, EUR, and GBP.
• Support reporting for productions, entities, and various business activities.
• Prepare and distribute royalty reports across the licensing portfolio.
• Facilitate reporting requirements for investors, ownership, and stakeholders.
• Generate ad hoc financial analyses and reports for senior leadership and external partners.
• Assist with month-end and supplemental reporting for various intellectual properties, including compliance with listed-company reporting deadlines.
• Deliver the 2027 budget utilizing existing models and assumptions.
• Maintain and leverage financial reporting and planning tools, including automated reporting processes.
• Prepare tax filings for the US and Canada and coordinate with external tax advisors.
• Assist with financial compliance and reporting requests.
• Conduct or support technical accounting research and documentation related to US GAAP.
• Collaborate with the EVP of Finance and the Finance team to ensure the continuity of financial operations.
• Provide cross-functional financial support and respond to requests from senior management.
• Uphold confidentiality and exercise sound judgment regarding sensitive financial, compliance, and business information.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Approximately 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, corporate finance, FP&A, or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Proven experience managing month-end closing and financial reporting processes from start to finish.
• Experience with multi-entity and/or multi-currency accounting and consolidations.
• Strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Advanced Excel capabilities and familiarity with financial reporting and accounting systems.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, sound judgment, and discretion.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small Finance team and senior leadership.
• Experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Preferred: familiarity with AI tools such as Claude in a finance or accounting context, or a strong desire to develop that capability.
• Preferred: CPA, CMA, ACCA, or an equivalent accounting/finance qualification.
• Preferred: experience in the entertainment, live events, media, gaming, or a related sector.
• Preferred: experience supporting private equity-backed organizations or businesses with intricate reporting needs.
• Preferred: experience with multi-currency consolidations.
• Preferred: knowledge of financial reporting automation tools, including LiveFlow or similar platforms.
• 5%–8% completion bonus based on base salary earned during the assignment, payable upon successful completion through April 30, 2027.
