Intake Specialist – Outbound

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Initiates outbound calls to patients and arranges various types of appointments across multiple locations.

• Engages with patients in a professional manner.

• Properly documents and confirms requested appointments.

• Delivers exceptional customer service.

• Identifies the most suitable location, clinician, and appointment type required for the patient.

• Handles incoming faxes from referral sources.

• Triages and directs general inquiry calls.

• Reaches out to patients regarding no-show or rescheduled appointments.

• Upholds and promotes the values of Hanger.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience.

• Minimum proficiency for the role, as assessed through a skills evaluation.

• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities, including the capacity to follow both written and verbal instructions.

• Resourceful and adaptable team player who excels in building trusting relationships with patients, referral sources, and colleagues.

• Familiarity with HIPAA and other medical insurance regulations and terminology for private payers, state, and federal plans, including coding, billing, and reimbursement protocols.

• Proficiency in computer skills, including Windows-based office applications (e.g., Word, Excel), Outlook, and automated billing systems.

• Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPC/CPT, and other coding systems.

• Capable of using office equipment such as fax machines, calculators, and postage machines.

• General understanding of state, federal, and regional collection and reimbursement laws.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Must possess an enthusiastic and positive demeanor.

• Ability to work autonomously, exercise creativity, and pay attention to detail.
