This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Handle requests, inquiries, and transactions through phone, email, fax, and mail
• Assess requests for completeness and accuracy
• Provide support to both internal and external customers via phone or email
• Record call and inquiry details and attach necessary supporting documentation
• Forward unresolved matters to the appropriate department for further investigation
• Collect and analyze data to offer feedback to Team Leads regarding employee development requirements and educational needs for providers
• Evaluate inquiries to ascertain if authorization is necessary
• Confirm member benefits, eligibility, and provider setup
• Maintain and refresh Service Requests
• Investigate incorrect or missing data
• Prioritize and allocate incoming inquiries to the suitable personnel
• Conduct monthly Peer Audits
• Communicate clinical review outcomes to members and providers both verbally and in writing
• Assist with special projects as required
• High school diploma or GED
• Over 3 years of experience in a related field
• Currently, Blue Cross NC will not provide employment authorization sponsorship for this role
• Previous experience in telephone-based customer service is highly preferred
• Knowledge of and familiarity with medical terminology is an advantage
