This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage a significant number of unpaid or incorrectly processed claims to ensure reimbursement.
• Execute medical billing tasks for third-party claims.
• Examine unpaid claims and simple denials; appeal, modify, and resubmit claims as required.
• Follow up with insurance providers regarding unpaid or incorrectly billed services.
• Assist patients in understanding the insurance claim process.
• Provide support to patients with collection inquiries when the Collections Specialist is not available.
• Write off uncollectible amounts up to $500, based on experience.
• Address claim edits prior to claim submission.
• Review and process payer refunds.
• Investigate and resolve minor patient complaints and credit balances.
• Complete special projects and other assigned responsibilities.
• Uphold confidentiality and adhere to Joint Commission, HIPAA, and PHI regulations.
• Rotate to different shifts and locations as required.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Experience in patient accounts billing is preferred.
• Familiarity with IDX Flowcast BAR is advantageous.
• Experience with CPT and ICD-9 coding is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills are essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are required.
• Detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Kronos, Replicon, Internet, Intranet, IDX, Meditech, Code Correct, Gateway EDI, and Imagecast is highly desirable.
• Must successfully pass a background check as mandated by RCW 43.43.830-840.
• Must not be listed on the HHS OIG List of Excluded Individuals.
• Eligible employees are required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test, including marijuana.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is required.
• Regular attendance is mandatory.
• Ability to rotate to other shifts and locations as necessary.
