This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Conduct surveys and audits of instruments and control sensors as well as devices in construction settings.
• Identify and resolve complicated control system issues related to electronic and digital control systems.
• Troubleshoot and fix controllers, relays, measurement devices, actuators, and various control hardware.
• Analyze operating equipment data and convey findings on efficiency improvements to relevant teams.
• Oversee the quality control of hardware installations for both new construction and retrofits.
• Define the scope of controls audits and assess processes for enhancements.
• Deliver technical training and support related to controls for data center operations personnel.
• Work in tandem with the global automation and optimization team on data center projects.
• Inform construction contractors about issues and forthcoming audit tasks.
• Assist customer data center operations as necessary.
• Travel primarily outside the area, including overnight and global trips, at least 60% of the time.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in controls within central plants, air handling units, and evaporative cooling/humidification systems involving sensors and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems in critical environments.
• Proven experience in interpreting and auditing blueprints, CAD drawings, and control diagrams.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Experience with DDC/PLC systems.
• Proficient in Python, PHP, and SQL.
• Background beyond field technician roles, including project management, project engineering, and operations management.
• Capability to work in confined spaces and at heights while using appropriate PPE.
• Ability to lift, carry, and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening, background checks, and basic skills assessments.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a passport.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
• Must be willing to travel 60% or more and work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Approved Class B hard hat is mandatory in designated areas and locations.
• Non-conductive PPE is necessary in specified areas and locations.
• Steel-toed footwear is required.
