Instructor/Facilitator SME – Character Formation for Spiritual Readiness

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Gain familiarity with the curriculum and training resources.

• Engage in client meetings.

• Take part in Walk Thru and Validation events.

• Conduct the 3-day PDTC at designated field sites, completing a total of 12 deliveries.

• Arrive at the site the day prior to each course.

• Meet with NCS personnel and/or the host command chaplain to ensure readiness.

• Gather feedback from participants and the host command after each event.

• Uphold professional appearance, behavior, and compliance with installation standards at all times.

• Facilitate virtual meetings and briefings with government personnel and stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A PhD, DPhil, or a thesis-based master’s degree (e.g., MA, STM, ThM) is preferred.

• Consideration will be given to professional doctorates and non-thesis master’s degrees based on relevant expertise and experience in the subject matter.

• Proven ability to deliver compelling, high-impact presentations to large audiences (100+), maintaining engagement throughout a full training day and achieving clear course objectives.

• Familiarity with institutional ministry in a diverse environment.

• Capacity to rapidly master the curriculum and implement it with minimal supervision.

• In-depth knowledge in character formation, moral and spiritual development, virtue ethics, or a closely related discipline.

• Awareness of current research related to the topic.

• Practical experience in instructing within the specialty area.

• Proficient with instructional presentation technologies.

• Experience with or a strong understanding of the U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps, military chaplaincy, or Sea Services ministry is highly desirable.

• Skilled in facilitating small-group discussions, case studies, and scenario-based activities.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the United States.

• Proficient in both written and spoken English.

• Capable of obtaining installation access credentials (DBIDS/visitor access).

• Able to complete the required Level I Antiterrorism Awareness and OPSEC awareness training.

• Must possess a valid U.S. passport with a validity extending beyond July 2027.

• Eligible for Letters of Authorization for overseas travel to Italy and Japan.

• Available for the entire engagement period and field schedule.

• Willing and able to travel frequently, including long-haul international trips.
