This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Create and implement educational programs, workshops, and seminars focused on leadership development, academic career progression, faculty mentoring, faculty vitality, resilience, communication, team efficiency, change leadership, and organizational effectiveness.

• Utilize adult learning principles and evidence-based educational practices to enhance course and program development.

• Facilitate engaging learning experiences for faculty, administrators, clinician educators, researchers, and emerging leaders.

• Assist in the development, execution, facilitation, and assessment of faculty development initiatives across the College of Medicine.

• Collaborate with FAME leadership to enhance faculty leadership and career development programs.

• Contribute to strategic planning that fosters faculty engagement, professional development, and leadership effectiveness.

• Create resources, tools, and assessments that promote faculty success throughout the academic career continuum.

• Design and implement program evaluation strategies, leveraging data for ongoing improvement.

• Contribute to scholarly dissemination via presentations, publications, and educational scholarship.

• Act as a subject matter expert in leadership development and faculty affairs.

• Engage in School, College, and University service activities.

• Participate in committees and working groups that support faculty advancement and leadership development.

• Represent SHRS and the College of Medicine in local, regional, and national faculty development initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, Health Professions Education, Organizational Development, or a closely related discipline.

• Experience in teaching and facilitating professional development programs within higher education or healthcare environments.

• Proven excellence in public speaking, facilitation, and curriculum design.

• Significant experience leading faculty development initiatives in an academic medical center.

• At least ten years of progressively responsible leadership experience in faculty affairs, academic affairs, faculty development, or career development within an academic medical center (preferred).

• Experience directing or co-directing a comprehensive faculty affairs, academic affairs, or faculty development office (preferred).

• Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating institution-wide faculty leadership development programs (preferred).

• Experience in creating and managing faculty mentoring, mentorship training, networking, onboarding, and faculty vitality initiatives (preferred).

• A record of peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and educational scholarship (preferred).

• Experience supervising professional staff and leading cross-functional teams (preferred).

• Active involvement and leadership in relevant national organizations (preferred).

• Experience in securing, managing, or evaluating externally funded programs (preferred).

• Expertise in adult learning theory and evidence-based approaches to leadership development.

• Knowledge of faculty promotion pathways, academic career progression, faculty engagement, and leadership development within academic health centers.

• Familiarity with the Ohio State University College of Medicine's FAME Center and its programming.

• Experience collaborating with medical school leadership, department chairs, faculty affairs professionals, and faculty development offices (preferred).

• Final candidates must successfully complete a background check.

• Must sign an authorization and disclosure form if the faculty position is tenured.
