Instructional Technologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary resource and initial point of contact for inquiries and requests related to instructional technology.

• Deliver assistance to faculty, staff, and students utilizing learning systems and instructional technologies.

• Collaborate with academic leaders and the Learning Design team to effectively incorporate technology into courses and curricula.

• Diagnose instructional technology problems and liaise with the IT department or other teams as necessary.

• Assess and suggest technology tools and resources for enhanced educational experiences.

• Develop and update technology guides and resources to assist users.

• Aid in the preparation of courses and learning systems, including migration tasks and ensuring course-shell readiness each term.

• Support the Learning Design team with various projects, requests, and initiatives during peak times.

• Ensure that instructional technologies and their integrations are accurate, functional, and meet University standards.

• Keep abreast of trends, tools, and best practices in instructional technology.

• Engage in team meetings, University events, and designated committees.

• Foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and outstanding service.

• Undertake additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

• 2–3 years of pertinent experience in instructional technology, educational technology, academic technology, administrative support, or a closely related field.

• Experience in supporting technology users within an educational or higher education setting is preferred.

• Knowledge of learning management systems and instructional technology tools.

• Familiarity with Campus Nexus and Microsoft Outlook/calendar management is preferred.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.

• Strong communication skills that are clear and approachable, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of audiences.

• Exceptional organizational skills and follow-through when handling multiple requests and competing priorities.

• A service-oriented mindset and a genuine interest in assisting others in their success.

• A curiosity and readiness to learn new technologies and adapt as systems and needs change.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with faculty, academic leaders, Learning Design, IT, and other University stakeholders.
