Instructional Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Integrate storytelling, purpose, vision, and business context into technical learning experiences.

• Perform learning needs assessments to pinpoint performance gaps, learner needs, business requirements, and suitable solutions.

• Create learner-centered solutions encompassing eLearning, self-paced learning, digital adoption, instructor-led training, virtual training, and performance support.

• Utilize instructional design methodologies and principles of adult learning.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), stakeholders, product teams, trainers, and cross-functional partners.

• Simplify complex processes, systems, and technical concepts into accessible learning experiences.

• Develop learning objectives, course outlines, storyboards, facilitator guides, participant materials, activities, assessments, knowledge checks, and supporting resources.

• Design scenarios, simulations, practice opportunities, and knowledge assessments.

• Support digital learning and in-app performance assistance using platforms like Whatfix.

• Create presentations, eLearning courses, job aids, infographics, videos, and other instructional materials.

• Oversee instructional design projects from inception to implementation, covering discovery, design, development, review, revisions, quality assurance, and deployment.

• Execute quality assurance and learning reviews.

• Evaluate learner feedback, engagement data, assessment outcomes, and performance insights.

• Update and maintain learning solutions as systems, processes, products, and business needs evolve.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and quality of instructional design and content development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 4–7 years of experience in designing and developing learning content for adult learners in a corporate or commercial setting.

• Proven experience in creating learning solutions for adult learners across various delivery methods.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to convert complex, technical, or process-intensive information into clear and engaging learning experiences.

• Familiarity with instructional design principles, including ADDIE, Bloom’s, ARCS, and SCARF.

• Experience in designing system or software training and assisting learners through technological or process changes.

• Proficient in tools such as Whatfix or other Digital Adoption Platforms, Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, TechSmith Camtasia/Snagit, and AI tools like ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.

• Capability to produce visually appealing, engaging, and learner-friendly materials.

• Strong organizational skills to manage work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

• Preferred experience with Whatfix, Amplitude, Pendo, or similar guided learning technologies.

• Familiarity with video or motion graphics is preferred but not mandatory.
