Instructional Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Create and implement learning journeys tailored for customers, partners, and internal teams, encompassing onboarding, feature adoption, role-specific enablement, certifications, tutorials, and performance-support materials.

• Utilize principles of adult learning, set learning objectives, design assessments, and apply instructional design methodologies.

• Leverage AI-driven tools for research, outlining, drafting, rewriting, summarization, assessment creation, scenario generation, and content modification.

• Validate AI-generated outputs with subject-matter experts and reference materials.

• Develop blended learning experiences that integrate self-paced learning, videos, interactive practice, knowledge assessments, live enablement, in-app guidance, and contextual performance support.

• Produce video tutorials, product demonstrations, microlearning modules, certifications, interactive guides, job aids, and in-app experiences.

• Script, storyboard, produce, edit, and manage video-based learning content.

• Design and maintain in-app training content using Pendo or comparable digital adoption platforms.

• Collaborate with UX and Product teams to uncover opportunities for embedded education, onboarding support, feature discovery, and contextual assistance.

• Incorporate usability, accessibility, and inclusive design principles into learning materials.

• Create reusable templates, AI prompt libraries, content patterns, and production workflows.

• Work in partnership with Product Managers, Product Designers, Engineers, Subject-Matter Experts, Customer Success, Support, and Partner teams.

• Simplify complex product functionalities, workflows, risk-management concepts, and technical information into actionable learning content.

• Collaborate with Documentation to ensure alignment between educational content, product documentation, release communications, and in-app guidance.

• Engage in processes related to feature launches and release readiness.

• Collect feedback from learners and stakeholders to enhance content quality and relevance.

• Analyze learner feedback, content performance metrics, support trends, product adoption signals, and certification outcomes to identify content gaps.

• Define and track learning metrics such as completion rates, engagement levels, assessment performance, time to competence, feature adoption, support deflection, and learner satisfaction.

• Continuously refine content based on testing and evidence.

• Facilitate localization and global accessibility by managing translation efforts and reviewing localized content.

• Contribute to governance, content maintenance, version control, review processes, and AI-assisted quality assurance.

• Stay updated on trends in instructional design, learning technologies, digital adoption, generative AI, and AI-driven content production practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, learning content creation, product education, customer education, enablement, technical writing, or a related field.

• Proven experience collaborating with subject-matter experts to convert complex information into clear, practical, learner-centered content.

• Strong understanding of instructional design principles, including learning objectives, learner personas, adult learning theories, assessments, storyboarding, and content sequencing.

• Capability to produce concise, clear, and engaging content for various levels of product knowledge and user roles.

• Experience in creating multimedia learning solutions, including videos, tutorials, certifications, microlearning, interactive modules, and contextual assistance.

• Proficient in writing scripts, storyboards, facilitator guides, knowledge checks, learning objectives, and user-facing product guidance.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Practical experience with generative AI tools for content creation, research, ideation, drafting, editing, localization, assessment development, or multimedia production.

• Ability to craft effective prompts and utilize structured workflows to efficiently produce high-quality learning materials.

• Strong discernment in evaluating AI-generated content for accuracy, bias, security, privacy, intellectual property concerns, accessibility, and brand consistency.

• Familiarity with tools such as Pendo, WalkMe, Whatfix, Synthesia, Descript, Camtasia, Articulate 360, Loom, Adobe Creative Cloud, learning management systems, learning experience platforms, knowledge bases, certification platforms, analytics tools, spreadsheets, dashboards, Google Workspace, Confluence, Notion, or Jira is advantageous.

• Experience in designing learning content for software, digital products, technical workflows, or professional audiences is preferred.

• A portfolio showcasing learning design thinking or educational assets is highly regarded.

• Proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
