This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Propel the growth of Taft-Hartley and institutional assets under management across all investment offerings.
• Acquire assets from U.S. investment consulting firms, with an emphasis on those located in the Central and Eastern U.S.
• Engage in direct outreach to Taft-Hartley plan sponsors.
• Present the capabilities of Raymond James Investment Management and its affiliates to consultants.
• Navigate offerings through manager research processes to achieve favorable ratings for consultant-influenced searches.
• Oversee affiliate consultant relations initiatives, including those at headquarters and field offices.
• Collaborate closely with Client Portfolio Management, Institutional Sales, and affiliates.
• Cultivate relationships with investment consultant research teams and field consultants.
• Formulate and implement sales plans for designated consulting firms.
• Identify and pursue new business avenues with Taft-Hartley plan sponsors.
• Lead business development meetings and finalize institutional account sales.
• Foster relationships with labor and management trustees, fund administrators, and fund professionals.
• Participate in Taft-Hartley industry, regional, and trade-specific conferences, conventions, and events.
• Attend client review meetings as requested by funds or investment consultants.
• Provide detailed call notes and market insights regarding affiliate products and industry trends.
• Act as a trusted advisor and intellectual contributor within the institutional community.
• Set agendas for research meetings and prepare presentation materials for consultants.
• Maintain the CRM system.
• Review RFPs for prospective clients.
• Carry out additional assigned responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Finance or Business.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in asset management.
• At least 5 years of experience in a consultant relations role within a multi-capability institutional investment management firm.
• A proven and measurable history of obtaining product ratings, entering searches, and driving AUM and revenue through investment consultants and plan sponsors.
• In-depth knowledge of the investment management sector.
• Comprehensive understanding of investment consultants and their institutional clientele.
• SIE required unless an exemption or grandfathering can be applied.
• FINRA Series 7 License.
• Advanced understanding of concepts, principles, and practices in the securities industry.
• Proficiency in advanced marketing and sales concepts, principles, and practices.
• Familiarity with institutional investment management products.
• Strong questioning and listening skills.
• Attention to detail and strong follow-up capabilities.
• Ability to recognize trends and communicate findings to management.
• Proficient in operating standard office equipment and essential software applications.
• Capability to market the company and demonstrate resilience in prospecting.
• Ability to work autonomously and make non-routine decisions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels, including senior management.
• Competence in organizing and managing multiple detailed tasks with shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to balance conflicting resource and priority demands.
